Marketing Associate

We are looking for a dynamic and self-starting marketing professional to support Carlson’s ambitious growth plans and expansion of solutions and services.  Working closely with the marketing director, the marketing associate will play a key role in developing and executing marketing strategy and tactics.  The individual will help build out the marketing plan and activity calendar by creating multi-touch campaigns along solution, service and vertical segment lines to generate leads and fill the sales funnel.   Responsibilities include creating blog posts, whitepapers, customer success stories, ad copy, and website content.  This role includes managing both internal and external events including promotion, logistics, and lead tracking while measuring ROI.  The associate will also contribute to lead generation and brand awareness strategies around social media, SEO, and paid advertising.

This position reports to the Marketing Director and is based out of our new South Portland, Maine office.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Writing and copy editing of blog posts, whitepapers, customer success stories, and other marketing collateral
  • Managing activities around conferences, seminars, and partner events
  • Assisting with the design and execution of marketing and sales campaigns
  • Preparing and updating sales presentations and proposals consistent with company positioning
  • Ensuring all marketing assets are up-to-date and creating new content as needed
  • Assisting with the development and cultivation of partner relationships
  • Other responsibilities as required
  • Occasional travel may be required

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strategic thinker that can see beyond day-to-day activities and take initiative on reaching marketing goals, creating a stronger brand, and improving the prospective customer journey
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Experience leveraging social media platforms
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Analytical skills to determine marketing effectiveness and ROI of campaigns
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms (HubSpot) is a big plus
  • Tech savvy with knowledge of cloud financial technology is highly desired
  • Event planning experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in B2B marketing
  • Bachelor of Arts with Marketing focus
