Laura joined Carlson from Politico, the political journalism company based in Virginia. Her role entailed the management and optimization of their Adaptive Insights’ models and reports. She played a dual systems and FP&A role where she was responsible for budgeting and forecasting of a portfolio of overhead and editorial departments while ensuring Adaptive met evolving business requirements. She also assisted with an HRIS implementation, developed the process of posting payroll to the GL, and facilitated the import of more granular salary detail into Adaptive Insights.
Prior to Politico, Laura worked at WGBH, the broadcast media non-profit, where she was a Senior Business Systems Analyst (Workday, Adaptive Insights and Salesforce) supporting financial reporting and budgeting for approximately 700 end users. She focused on the intersection of system configuration and accounting/reporting requirements for the restricted and discretionary side of the business. She was also involved with the process of posting payroll and benefits entries to the GL.
Laura started her career at PwC, during which she earned her CPA (awarded MSCPA Third Honors), as an Audit Associate in the Technology sector of the practice where she consulted with companies ranging from the start-up to stage to public entities.
Laura graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stonehill College with a B.S.B.A in Accounting.
